Because of the flat surfacesolid settling and fouling of the membranes also was a potential issue.In response to those concerns, SSI introduced the ReliaBall (88mm Dia.) coarse bubblediffuser, which is also an Elastomeric Round Coarse Bubble Diffuser but has a differentbody shape. It has the check valve function with an orifice restriction, which ensuresthat air distributes very evenly between diffusers. EPDM rubber round membranes onthe ReliaBall are out of the highest quality raw material with low plasticizer to ensurea robust product.
